How To Get A Complete Body Workout

By Nate Redd

When loosing weight, while certain parts of your body may be slimming down, others will stay stubbornly flabby. The reason why this happens is that your body isn't really programmed to lose weight uniformly. Instead, it loses weight in direct response to what you're doing and which parts of your body you're working most.

The solution to this is simple: total body exercises. Some exercises are better at encouraging uniform weight loss than others, mostly because they use a wide array of muscles throughout the body.

The best body workout is achieved by swimming. Did you notice the perfect bodies of swimmers? They have those gorgeous bodies because swimming involves the work of a huge number of various muscles. Swimming is also a resistance workout thus toning the muscles too.

Aerobics is another good example too, and it is something you can even do at home. There are a lot of fun dvd's on the market with step by step instructions on how to get a good aerobic workout at home.

An alternative to aerobics is brisk walking. A longer walk, about 40 minutes, will do the rick. It is easy and pleasant, either early in the morning or late afternoon, before dinner. It is recommended to eat at least one hour after the workout.

Going to the gym is another option and a very important step for getting into a total body workout routine. Some people are not very decisive, it could expensive, or they don't have enough time, but it is highly recommended.

Some reasons you can consider when deciding to join a gym are: necessary equipments for your exercise are available to you in the gym; you will see people with the same goals as yours, like losing or gaining weight, building muscles, wanting to get fit, so you will get motivated; you will formulate a workout routine.

As a conclusion, I strongly suggest that you should start your workout routine as soon as possible. A total body workout should be on everyone's New Year's resolution list.
