The Effects Of Ripped Abs Is More Than Visual

By Daniel Lewis

Wash boards are ribbed metal pieces. A century ago they were used to scrub clothes clean. Electric washing machines arrived, and wash boards began to fade like the sunset. They are now antique store items. Today they are back, but referring more to the abs appearance. It is difficult to determine if low riding, open shirt wearing, hip hugging fashion created the current ripped abs phenomenon, or if the phenomenon generated the fashion change. No matter the reasons, it is here. It is likely to be here to stay.

Abdomen muscles that are ripped are strong and in great shape. Even though there is a point of vanity in having the proverbial six pack, there are physiological benefits that can be in effect long after the desire just to look good is long gone. The abdomen muscles are part of what is known as the core. They protect vital organs such as the kidneys, liver, spleen, as well as the digestive tract.

Not only do they help protect vital organs, but they aid in the functions of breathing. Exhaling becomes less laboring the stronger abdomen muscles are. They even help in the functions of urinating and defecating. For women, they are a vital part of the child birth process. When the doctor or midwife asks a mother to push, they are the muscles which are being referred to.

There is a positive correlation between the backs condition and ab strength. In other words, as core muscles get stronger, there is less stress on the back. This leads to a reduced chance of back problems occurring.

Acquiring ripped abs in nothing like getting a tan. These can be sprayed on. A person is not able to enter a gym with a flabby midsection and an hour later exit with a washboard stomach. It takes hard work and dedicated efforts. It could even take years to get, and a disciplined approach to keeping them once they have been achieved.

The first step is about diet. Many have layers of fat around their midsection in various thicknesses. Focus needs to be placed on finding the ideal weight based on height, age, and usual levels of daily activity. Reducing calories and eating more healthy foods is a lifestyle change that not only aids in the quest for abs excellence, but enables them to have a better quality of life.

There are tons of exercises available which can help strengthen and define the abs. One of the more overlooked approaches is jogging. Jogging engages the entire abdominal muscle group and at the same time burns calories. This leads to safe weight loss as well as improved heart rates. Other routines like yoga and pilates help in the strengthening of the proverbial six pack.

While one eats properly and jogs if possible, adding activities that specifically target the abs would be a plus. There are extreme core exercises that place focus on them. When a person finally achieves the ripped abs it is inevitable that the entire health will be in a better state. And maybe there will be another person that proudly wears hip huggers or open shirts.
